چکیده

Polymer photosensitizers have gained a growing interest as singlet oxygen (1O2) generators. Although they provide route to sustainable chemistry, their efficiency in bulk reactions is restricted by limited supply and short lifetime. Herein, we report membrane reactors that support range of organic using 1O2 generated from polymer photosensitizers. The porous nature the support, nylon fabric functionalized with poly(fluorenthiophen thiadiazothiophen) (PFOTTzT), allows highly efficient trapping thin reagents close proximity source. We demonstrate oxidation are accelerated 10 – 100 folds, polymerization rapidly initiated reach nearly 2-fold increase degree polymerization. method compatible solvents upon protection polymeric layer polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) prevents solvent transport but diffusion through. Summarizing, our sustainable, low-cost, robust-in-use overcome current limitations involving show strong potential for green industrial use.

FRET quenching of photosensitizer singlet oxygen generation.

The development of activatable photodynamic therapy (PDT) has demonstrated a utility for effective photosensitizer quenchers. However, little is known quantitatively about Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) quenching of photosensitizers, even though these quenchers are versatile and readily available. To characterize FRET deactivation of singlet oxygen generation, we attached various quen...

A singlet oxygen photosensitizer enables photoluminescent monitoring of singlet oxygen doses.

A molecular dyad that can photosensitize and visualize singlet oxygen ((1)O2) was developed. The dual photofunction enables ratiometric photoluminescence monitoring of the progress of (1)O2-induced cell death.

In vivo PDT dosimetry: singlet oxygen emission and photosensitizer fluorescence

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a light activated chemotherapy that is dependent on three parameters: photosensitizer (PS) concentration; oxygen concentration; and light dosage. Due to highly variable treatment response, the development of an accurate dosimeter to optimize PDT treatment outcome is an important requirement for practical applications. Singlet oxygen is an active species in PDT, and...

Singlet oxygen production by Peptide-coated quantum dot-photosensitizer conjugates.

Peptide-coated quantum dot-photosensitizer conjugates were developed using novel covalent conjugation strategies on peptides which overcoat quantum dots (QDs). Rose bengal and chlorin e6, photosensitizers (PSs) that generate singlet oxygen in high yield, were covalently attached to phytochelatin-related peptides. The photosensitizer-peptide conjugates were subsequently used to overcoat green- a...

Photodynamic molecular beacon as an activatable photosensitizer based on protease-controlled singlet oxygen quenching and activation.

Molecular beacons are FRET-based target-activatable probes. They offer control of fluorescence emission in response to specific cancer targets, thus are useful tools for in vivo cancer imaging. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a cell-killing process by light activation of a photosensitizer (PS) in the presence of oxygen. The key cytotoxic agent is singlet oxygen ((1)O(2)). By combining these two p...
